Pomodoro technique

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management system that encourages people to work with the time they have rather than against it. Using this method, you break your workday into 25-minute chunks separated by five-minute breaks. These intervals are referred to as Pomodoros. After about four pomodoros, you take a longer break of about 15 to 20 minutes.

The idea behind the technique is that the timer instills a sense of urgency. Rather than feeling like you have endless time in the workday to get things done.

I am a web developer and practicing code all day. Sometimes it becomes so boring to code. I am so distracted by everything around me. I needed to manage my time properly. I was going through an Amal Academy Course named “Productivity: The secret of getting things done”. I found a technique, the Pomodoro technique. So this was the method that I had applied to my work. I was building a web-based UI project assigned to me in the DevNation fellowship.

HTML code

It was an easy but time taking project so I decided to, that I will build this project using the Pomodoro technique. I set my timer to 25 minutes and start building it. At the first 25 minutes, it was good and nothing distracted me nor I got bored. I took a break of 5 minutes and then set the time again to 25 minutes. But this time, after 15 minutes of coding I get bored and I was like to pick up my cell phone but stop myself from distracting. Half of the hour had gone by now. After starting again, I was distracted with my resume. I remembered a mistake in my resume. I opened up my resume but suddenly got remember of that I am using a Pomodoro technique, So I get back to my work. It was too difficult to work for one hour through with just 5 min break after 25 minutes. But the experiment was really good, I did more work than I normally do. The idea of the Pomodoro technique was really amazing. You become more productive when you think that you are using a technique for time management.
